tutorial 6 : my metrosexual shadow man!

after opened this image, i created a new layer. then i went to rectangular marquee tool and changed the style to the fixed size and changed the width and the height 900 x 40 pixels. moved the cursor to the upper lefthand side and clicked. the size that i changed appeared. then hold on the alt key then clicked backspace to fill the rectangular with black (the foreground color) and diselected.

hold on the alt key at the rectangular area then dragged it to the below just like the image that i showed. then i combined all the layer that have been created by clicking all the layers for the rectangular then clicked ctrl+E to merged all the layers and named it as slats 1 because i will create slats 2 after this. then duplicated the slats 1 and named it as slats 2. then i hided slats 1 and slats 2

then i went to the channel pallet, i chose the green layer. then i went to the pop up menu, duplicated the green layer and with the new document then alpha 1 created. made it into grayscale.

after that, i applied a gaussian blur to smooth out the gray level..then i brought up the level menu by clicking the ctrl+L, pushed up the white level a bit, and dragged others also..then i saved the file at the desktop on psd file.

then i came back to the layer pallet, then i turned on the slats 2 and i dragged it above the man's face..then i went to the filter menu, chose distort and then displaced.. changed the horizontal and vertical scales to 10 and 15..clicked ok and then menu will come out and i chose the file that i have saved at the desktop. clicked on it

and this appeared..to make the line more softer, as usual, i applied the gaussian blur..used the pixels that i think is appropriate..

then i hold on the ctrl key, clicked on the man's face layer to make a selection..then i made a new layer mask..this happened..

then i reduced the capacity..

then i turned on the slats 1, then i applied the gaussian blur..

same method, i reduced the capacity..

then, i clicked on the man's face layer, i changed the hue/saturation..by using the brush tools, with the color mode, i colored the man's hair, lips and also his shirt..

there you see..the metrosexual shadow man!!

assignment 2 : the description

i made the colourful text so that people will more attract to read the courses that has been offered. i used more bright color to it. but since the wallpaper is not so big, so i have to use small font so that it wont too crowded. the pictures that i have searched, all of it are related to the FOM. the computers could represent the multimedia, e-commerce and also the subjects that students have taken because most of the course required to learn computer. the paper and the calculator represent the accounting, and other equation subjects that student from FOM have to learn. the shake hands represent that communication that goes well among students that we have or will learn from certains subjects. and the scroll with the graduation hat represent that FOM student will graduate someday because the faculty required us to learn many things from basic computer, accounting, economics, languages. history and many more that will make our future brighter. the blue background with the some flowers show the harmony among the students, lectures and officers from FOM.

assignment 2

k i started with a blank white of a4 size page..then i created a background from the blank A4 size.. then from the tutorial 6 that i have learnt, i created my own background. first, i filled the page with blue color. then i put used cloud, lightness then created alpha channel from channels pallet..

the text i created used a normal text, then from the previous tutorial, i followed how to made the text like real on the wall (which i already created)..i clicked on the rectanglar tools, hold on then clicked on the line tool..at the above side, clicked on the 3rd icon that will fill up the line with color..before that, clicked on the alpha channel..changed the width to 2 pixels..then pressed the shift key while making the line on the words

i applied the same material to put an MMU logo at the right below corner

for the main text, i created it as usual, but then i applied stroke on it with drop shadow and outer glow..

the images that i took from the internet, i arranged the places then applied the same method every each of it with drop shadow, the border, and other things

the new texts i made it horizontally to make some differences

then i put more texts for information about the horizontal texts that i have made

to make it more interesting, i dropped a special effects brush tool on the background..

tutorial 5 : the yoga man~

the tutorial 5 exercise..

first i drew a flame used lasso tools
ctrl+backspace to blank inside..

then editted with gaussian blur, arranged it by any pixels that i wanted

by using the eraser, and the black color as the foreground, i erased a bit the flame without touch the middle area
visibled the background area, then named the flame as flame and I created a flame figure, I define brush preset on it so that I can do a multiple flames using brush tools.

then brushed it on the hand

To add a color on the flames, i created a random size of rectangular on the marquee tool and use red and yellow color and go to filter chose render clouds.After that, I press shift+ctrl+ I to apply the color on the flames only.

I went to the filter menu and click liquify mode on it, then I clicked "swirl" button and applied it to the flame that I chose so that it looks more pretty flame object.

then i flipped horizontal on that flame to apply it to another hand, then arranged it a bit by using eraser

alright, now for the smoke on the man's head, i used lasso tools to draw..

with the same technique, ctrl+Backspace and the gaussian blur

to apply the smoke, i applied the render clouds and changed the layer to multiply. ctrl+L to edit the smoke

then to erase the smoke at his face, i used the eraser. and to make it more interesting and real, i changed the hue/saturation to make the man's face red..parallel with the flame and smoke

tutorial 4

i clicked on the ink vector layer, then put gradient overlay in the layer style

then i changed the color of the gradient, since i like purple, i chose dark and light purple..

from the gradient overlay, i made some changes by dropping inner and drop shadow, changed the angle, put some outer glow, turned on bevel and emboss, all those things i editted by my own..non-specification..
then i created new style for Ink Vector layer and rename it as Aqua Viva 1

i dragged the Aqua Viva 1 to the style pallet at the above, then for the splash, i just clicked on it then clicked at the style before to fill it with same color that i have editted before

i made some changed for the second splash by changed the gradient color, yeah that pinky one..

turned off the visibility of RGB, then turned on the green pallet, then dragged it to the new layer button to make a new green layer copy

put some gaussian blur

ctrl+L, then the levels box appeared, make some changed of it

i went to Edit, chose Define Pattern then Pattern Name box pop up and name it as Rust

then i made some changes on the second splash just now to make it more ruster

clicked Ctrl+Backspace the background will turns into black like below
applied one of the background in Styles column

clicked Brush and simply draw the background

i selected Blending Options and changed the opacity to 30% and select blend interior effect as a group

Project Objective: to apply more techniques that i have learn from more tutorials that i have done and also to promote the FOM course to everyone.

Approach:
after a few minute "google"ing, i found a few pictures or posters thati could make it as my references

Rules and Responsibilities:
1. i searched for posters in Google for my references.
2. i have to take or maybe search for FOM building pictures to apply it on my poster.
3. apply all the techniques that i have learn from the videos provided for tutorials.

Comment:
i'm having a difficulties to find an idea for my wallpaper. and also for the picture of FOM building since there is no picture of it that i can search through online, seems like i have to snap it by my own. and im not sure about technique that i will apply for my wallpaper. hope that i can cope with that.

tutorial 3

at first, the image looked like this..

but then, when i opened at the path pallet, it appeared a book title layer when i clicked on it, from that, i hold ctrl key and click on it to make a selection from the path. then i went to the layer pallet, made a new layer..

then from the new layer, i hold ctrl key and pressed backspece key..then the white words appeared.clicked on ctrl+d for deselect..now it seems like a painting on the wall..

then i went to the channel pallet, there i could see the RGB layers..the i created a new alpha channel at the bottom..then this appeared..

but when i clicked back on the RGB layer, the visibility turned on..

clicked on the rectanglar tools, hold on then clicked on the line tool..at the above side, clicked on the 3rd icon that will fill up the line with color..before that, clicked on the alpha channel..changed the width to 2 pixels..then pressed the shift key while making the line on the words like this..

the i changed the width to 6 pixels..the i pressed shift key and made the line at certain parts like that..

when i turned off the visibility of the RGB channel..i could see this appeared..the line that i made before..

then i went to the filter menu..clicked on mezzotint..and i chose short line..

now i applied the gaussian blur from the filter, blur menu, with radius 1.3 pixels then clicked ok..

clicked on ctrl+L, then i changed s little bit alpha control wtih specific setting, then clicked ok..

then i went back to the RGB channel, then hold on the ctrl key on the alpha 1 channel, clicked it to make a selection.

then i went to the layer pallet, clicked on the layer 1, and clicked on a new layer mask..see what happened..then clicked on the layer mask icon at the layer 1, hold on ctrl+I and to invert the pixels and allowed more text to dicover..

then came back to the path pallet..pressed ctrl and clicked on the boo title..then i went to the channel pallet and created a new brand channel and alpha 2 created..clicked on that channel..

now to make the selection thinner, i went to the edit menu, chose stroke, then set the width to 10 pixels with centre location, now see what happened..

now i went to the filter menu, chose the brush stroke, and chose spatter..and i changed the effect of spray radius and the smoothness as what i wanted..now i can see the finished channel is ready to use..

now i went back to the RGB channel, hold on the ctrl key to the alpha 2 and clicked it to make a selection..and came back to the layer pallet and make sure the icon at the layer mask is selected..then to do the inverse selection. pressed shift+ctrl+I..then hit the alt+backspace key..and then deselected

came back to the layer 1 at the layer pallet, double clicked at the area and i brought up the layer style box..when i dragged the underlying layer to the right, the dark area became clearer..but i adjusted it and dragged the light area with alt key while dragging..

now you guys can see the final result..

this is the background that i made before (the procedures at the blog below..)

i dragged all of the images that i have editted before (also on the previous blog..) one by one and i dropped shadow on each of it with distance 5 pixels, spread 5% and size 15 pixels. all with the same distance, spread and size..

then i re-editted the arrangement, saved it into psd file format and also jpeg..

and the outcome..

k started with Hari Raya image, first i resized the image smaller, then with pain bucket, i painted the background with white color, then by using rectangular marquee tool, i made the rectangular like polaroid picture and cut the rest. made the caption with text. and i changed the color of the clothes used hue/saturation and and brush to color their clothes.

now for the chinese new year image, i just made the color changes used hue/saturation..and also gaussian blur at the back mirror..and yes, i did the same procedure as hari raya before by cutting and caption for the polaroid picture

the deepavali at batu cave..the same method i used for polaroid..but now i applied the tutorial 2 as i used grayscale by brushing certain area..then new layer for the color changes used hue/saturation..

now for the hari gawai image, i used hue/saturation. for the master, just like the tutoraial before, i dragged the saturation to -100..and other red, blue, yellow, green, magentas and also cyans, all of its i changed their lightness a bit..

i chose KLCC as my background image..why? because i think KLCC is the symbol of proud and togetherness for Malaysian..it's just my opinion la..

i changed the picture by using filter then sketch gallery, and i chose photocopy..
went to the stroke below the layer place, clicked on stroke then make some changes to get the border..
created a new layer, then i picked a brush tool, which is special effect brush, that butterflies, placed it at the corner. then new layer again, i chose the text, as the title, Malaysia Truly Asia with brush script std, size 48pt then placed it at the same corner. finished for background..easy rigth..

Project Objective: to promote the outsiders about multicultural in malaysia by creating a postcard that usually attrack the tourists. and also could gain more skills on adobe photoshop to make an image more realistic and attracted.

Approach: to create the postcard, i play around with more variety of colors, blur filter, pen tools, drop shadow, hue/saturation, text, sketch filter and some other things..

Idea
show some multicultural malaysian festivals such as hari raya, chinese new year, deepavali and other i will think later, could be hari gawai or some other festivals that annualy held in malaysia.

Write down how you create the postcard?
with some images that show the multicultural festival; deepavali, chinese new year and hari raya, i combined it as it was a polaroid picture and put captions on each of it.

Using what images?
images using jpeg and bitmap file format that i found on internet.

What tools at Photoshop you use to edit the images?
blur tools, filter then sketch, brush, paint bucket, magic wand, rectangular marquee tool, clone stamp and some other more.

Write here about the idea of your postcard, is it your own Idea or References (if you refer to someone else idea)?
it's my own with some other help. the idea is about the multicultural festivals that annually held in malaysia.

Write clearly on the making process from beginning stage until the final output stage.
1. for the background image, i just used paint bucket to fill the color that i want to. then i decorate with brush tool. put the text 'malaysia truly asia' at the right corner with appropriate color for easily read. every step for the text and the brush i made new layer.
2. i made the polaroid pictures one by one by coloring the background with white then cut it, put some caption.
3. i used the blur tool, moslty are gaussian blur then used it into every picture.
4. saved the postcard everytime i made a new layer.
5. saved it but not flattern it and will make some changes if it's required so.

Roles and Responsibilities:
1. search multicultures image from google and some from my friend
2. start to plan how i want to put the pictures inside the postcard.
3. change a little bit the original picture to make it more interesting.

Comment: it's quite difficult to change some pictures especially the klcc where i have to change it into sketch (for the behind of the postcard). and also hard to find the perfect blur for each image.

tutorial 2: the eye

pressed ctrl+alt+0 for more resolution image.

opened the hue/saturation, clicked on colorize and dragged the hue to 35, saturation to 3o and clicked ok..
with pen tool, selected the path, i drew a path as shown on the image. while the cursor at the path pallet, pressed ctrl key and clicked it. then i went to the channel pallet, and clicked on new channel, now i have an alpha 1. click ctrl+d for deselect and went to the new path to create another path on the eye..and i repeated the same work as i did before. and there is alpha 2. now i have two selection that i made from the path i've made.

clicked the alpha 1 and the clicked on the visibility of RGB, then this image appeared. then set the gaussian blur to 2.5 pixels.

then i selected the alpha 2, but now i have to use lasso tool since the sharpness of both side are different. from the side that i have been selected, i put the gaussian blur to 3.5 pixels.then inverse the selection by press shift+ctrl+i and then clicked ctrl+f twice to make both side blur with different pixels.

Pressed ctrl+d to deselect and select RGB. then clicked ctrl key and click alpha 1, and shift+ctrl + alpha 2 to combine alpha 1 and 2.For undo that, ctrl+alt to minus the part of the alpha 2.For indo, ctrl+alt+shift+alpha 2 for the overlapping area. then i clicked on layer pallet, hue/saturation and made the adjustment and selected any color for the eye..

and finally..

tutorial 2: the model

alright now lets move on to the another image; the model..started with..

i converted the image into the grayscale

the duplicated the gray channel, with new one

undo the grayscale filter for the original image..went to the layer pallete then choose the hue/saturation, just clicked ok.

created another hue/saturation again and this time dragged the saturation to -100, into grayscale back for the original image..and clicked ok. now both of the images are identical.

now, i went back to the hue/saturation layer that i made at the first place, there are editting for colors, ctrl+1 for red, ctrl+2 yellow, ctrl+3 green, ctrl+4 cyan, ctrl+5 blue and ctrl+6 magentas. now i used red first and dragged the lightness to -25..

with ctrl+2 for yellow, the lightness went to -100 so that we can see the blond hair more clearly..

now with ctrl+3, the green with -64

ctrl+4, the cyans with -26

because of the magentas doesnt show any changes, i just skipped that part and went to ctrl+5 for the blue with -91..

then i zoomed in both of the images..

now you can see the differences..right is the normal grayscale and the left is the grayscale that have been editted..

tutorial 2: the fingernails

for tutorial 2, there are 3 images provided

k let start with the fingernail picture..

by using brush and the size of 200, with color mode, black, then i made the above side grayscale in a new layer. i changed the size of brush follow the smaller part; the finger..can include the nail also..
on the path, click the layer on that path and hold the ctrl key at the same time.
then go to the layer, search the hue/saturation..
from the hue/saturation, i changed the color of the sofa..
then by using brush with smaller size, to color the nails, i went back to the hue/saturation and choosed any color that i like for every each of the fingernail.

tutorial 1

used the ruler as guideline and i made a cross line at the centre

i used marquee tool to make a marquee, not too small and not too big at the centre, then feather it about 40 pixels and blurred using gaussian blur around 6 pixels.

i dragged a starfish inside the background then resized it smaller..

by holding alt key, i clicked on the starfish to make a copy of it then dragged it to other side.

then i resized it smaller. with same procedure, i made another copy by resizing it smaller then before. and used gaussian blur for both of the stafishes with different pixels.

the original starfish i blurred it with radial blur..by making another copy of it and dragged the new layer below the original layer.

by using brush tool and used 700 pixels of size, i clicked it at the starfish..

opened a new file, the plasma tv..

used the rectangular marquee tool, follow the inside of the plasma tv..then clicked on filter-->>sketch-->>halftone pattern..
redo the capacity as followed..
then the plasma tv looked like this..
dragged it to the background..

by holding shift key, clicked and dragged the tv to the place that it should..and holding alt key, clicked and dragged to order the angle to the right place..and made the shadow from the layer path and choosed drop shadow..and i arranged it by clicking the plasma tv and the shadow appeared..

to follow the shadow from behind, dissappeared the plasma tv first..i used a lasso tool to draw a line, followed the shadow that already there by holding alt key and clicked until it arrived from the start place..then clicked alt+backspace to make it black..opened the gaussian blur and blurred it..then appeared the plasma tv back...

while the shadow layer still active, hold ctrl key and clicked on the tv layer and clicked on the layer mask icon..then reduced the capacity to what ever value, i used 45%..then finished

and the outcome....

for assignment 3..as usual, i used deforestation as the aspect..

the reference for my layout

i saved the reference poster as template, draw a line to arrange the layout..

i used a gradient blue color for the background..

i draw the building one by one and then make it transparent..

for the tree, i started with the tree-trunk..i draw it one by one then combined it together, grouped it..

the leaves, i draw just one then copy it..i just resized them, alter the color and arranged it backward..

draw a leaf, put it itno symbol..then rotate the one that i have done and put it into symbol again..then i sprayed around the place it should be..

i made a new rectangle at the bottom for the ground..put the text used arc tool to put the text on it..arrange a bit and put the symbol next to the text..and finished.

for the assignment 2, i chose a deforestation as my aspect of global warming and a tree as the object..these are procedures how i created it used illustrator..

i used 100 % pentool. put more gradient colors and for the first time used spray to spray the leaves and the grasses..and also the warp tool to make it interesting..

This is the new symbol that i've just created..last symbol didnt clear of what aspect of global warming..so i created new one with aspect of deforestation..still the same idea but with some changes..

there u go~ as we know, umbrella is a symbol of protection..no matter what condition especially when raining and even from shiny day..the leaves inside there are symbol of deforestation. in other case, the leaves that we should protect from deforestation. the globe at the holder shows the main thing that we have protect, the earth itself and the three hands represent the multraces and cultures should together protect the wolrd..the colors of this symbol mostly based on earth, and the hands based on the most colors that used to it..

using pen tools, i drew followed the template that has been saved. i just followed the umbrella..not the older content.

the i colored it used more gradient colors..and the leaves i created on other side and put in in front of the umbrella..

but then i changed the leaves as madam ling wanted me to make it less. i did and to make it more nicer i used transparency i chose Hue for the leaves. and there it is..the final symbol~

i went to mdm ling's room for consultation..i showed her my sketch that she has seen before because she asked me to put something inside my symbol, and here my sketch..

i put a globe inside it..and madam ling doesnt agree with it..then she gave me some ideas where i can illustrate a globe at the holder (as u can see, she wrote something on it..) and the upper side she suggested to put solutions for global warming..and the hands..yeah three hands will represent races..maybe indian, chinese, malay..or could be american, african..there'e no specific races there as u can see i just want to show a multinational or every human should protect the world from global warming..and for the solution i searched for references..

after that i made a new sketch..still the same umbrella but with solution inside it..

tadaaaa~ yeah i know..quite messy..but tomorrow will meet mdm ling again for more opinions..

k here we go again..for the awareness of global warming..i've to create a symbol..and popp!! my brain easily think about earth..but later on i keep thinking about other thing..yeah i know..some people..i mean most of people ( who have to create too..) might think the same..earth~ earth~ earthh~..wut else..animal? yeah..and tree also..omg..this is quite tough..just keep drawing..sketching..and here you go..

yup~ an umbrella...what's on earth am i thinking rite..but it's not just an umbrella..i have the meaning inside it..and here also my other sketchs..

the burning earth with melting of ice..the crying eye with burning earth inside and the devil burning earth..like i said before...all about earth~ and i dont decide yet what should i choose..or maybe i've to think another??

hello there..just created my new blog..me is adibah..diba it would be nice to call..19 going on 20 next year..this blog is created specially for my one and only subject that required me to do so, computer graphics 1 or we could call it mcg1014..k i have only 5 minutes to write or type something here so i really really no idea what to write..k let's end up here and i'll be updating my blog as my assignment taking my nap time as granted..that's what people keep saying about this subject..so that's it..have a nice reading..bye
